ATLANTA – Slava Kozlov and Marian Hossa each scored in the shootout to give the Atlanta Thrashers a victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
Atlanta’s Kari Lehtonen, who made 32 saves in regulation and three in overtime, stopped the two attempts he faced in the shootout.

PHILADELPHIA – Buffalo’s Ales Kotalik scored the only shootout goal and the Sabres beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-5 on Saturday night to extend their season-high winning streak to six games.
Kotalik, who also scored in regulation, beat goalie Martin Biron to the glove side for the winner.

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) – Pavel Kubina scored a power-play goal 34 seconds into overtime to help Toronto snap a three-game losing streak.

OTTAWA – Patrick Sharp scored the tying goal early in the third period and set up Jonathan Toews’ winning tally in overtime in Chicago’s win over Ottawa.
Sharp, who misfired on a second-period penalty shot, scored 38 seconds into the third to draw Chicago even at 3.
Hurricanes 4, Lightning 1
TAMPA, Fla. – Ray Whitney scored twice and had an assist in the third period, and Cam Ward stopped 29 shots to lead the Carolina Hurricanes past the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 on Saturday night.
Islanders 3, Caps 2 (OT)
UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) – Richard Park’s goal 3:43 into overtime helped the New York Islanders beat Washington.
Park took Radek Martinek’s pass in the lower left circle and beat Olie Kolzig with a wrist shot for his sixth goal of the season, giving the Islanders consecutive wins for the first time since Nov. 16-19.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – Dominik Hasek made 18 saves, and tight-checking Detroit suffocated Marian Gaborik and Minnesota.
Two nights after becoming the first player in nearly 11 years to score five goals in a game, Gaborik was held to just two shots.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Jason Arnott recorded his first hat trick in more than two years and Nashville snapped a five-game losing streak and sent L.A. to its seventh straight loss.
