LEWISTON – La Rencontre will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the Franco-American Heritage Center. A meal and will be followed by a musical program.

People are encouraged to speak only French. The January event will feature corn chowder, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, beverage and spice cake. The price is $7 a person.

The entertainment will be The Trio, with members Lorraine Ouellette, Gerry Dube and Adrien Leclair singing French music and accompanying themselves on the accordion, the guitar and the banjo. There will also be short comic clips from “Tetes a claques.”
