NORWAY – Pearl Catherine Valsecchi, 81, of Oxford, passed away with her loving family by her side at Stephens Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Pearl Catherine Fraser was born in Torrington, Conn., on April 12, 1926, to Ralph and Francis Beham Fraser. “Purdy” met the love of her life, Albert Valsecchi in grade school. They went on to marry and build a loving family and spend 58 wonderful years together. They travelled the world together while “Val” served in the U.S. Navy. They then settled in Torrington, Conn., where they raised their family.
She worked at the Thomas Clock Co. She also ran several family businesses. In 1976, “Val” and “Purdy” moved their family to South Paris, where they opened the Fiddlehead Market. They spent many winters in Florida, after his retirement in 1980. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and nana who was loved by everyone. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick and wife, Lynn Valsecchi, of Torrington, Conn., and Mark Valsecchi and Holley Pulkinen, of Otisfield; a daughter, Holly and husband, Sam Sessions, of South Paris; seven grandchildren, Dawn Valsecchi, Nicole Proctor, Eric Valsecchi, Shella Sessions, Kayla Valsecchi, Danny Valsecchi and Marley Valsecchi; her sister-in-law, Thelma Moscarillo; and dear friends, Jerry and Betty Ehlman.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Albert; and a sonm Kim Valsecchi.
The family is grateful for the compassion of her caregivers, Jean, Susie and Margie, as well as Dr. Kumaki, and the staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
