WASHINGTON, D.C. – Barbara Fisher-Sprufero and Janet McMaster of Geiger presented a $17,210 check to Georgetown University Hospital on Nov. 28.
The money was raised at a not-for-profit fundraiser called Barbara’s Choice at Geiger’s national sales conference in May 2007. Matching the contributions from the three-day sales conference in Jamaica, Geiger exemplified one of their nine company values, “We give back to our community.”
Barbara’s Choice is a charity held in honor of a 20-year veteran sales partner with Geiger, Barbara Fisher-Sprufero, who is continuing to battle various forms of cancer. She has been fighting the disease for several years and recently underwent treatment using CyberKnife.
She was given the opportunity to name the beneficiary of the funds raised at the sales conference and she chose Georgetown University Hospital’s CyberKnife program.
During the sales conference, Fisher-Sprufero addressed her peers, sharing her personal story of dealing with cancer and the impact the state-of-the-art technology has had on her life.
She and her division sales manager, Janet McMaster, presented the check to Susan F. Skinner, vice president of development, at the Foundation of Georgetown University Hospital.
Geiger is the largest privately held promotional products distributor in the nation. It is an internationally renowned manufacturer of calendars and planners, and the sole publisher of the world-famous Farmers’ Almanac.
