LEWISTON – Patricia A. Blood, 58, of North Jay, died early Christmas morning, Dec. 25, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a short illness.

She was born in Farmington, March 28, 1949, a daughter of Russell and Ella (Abbott) Buxton and received her education in Phillips schools.

On March 17, 1968, she married Oliver Blood Jr. in Phillips.

Mrs. Blood worked at the Dixfield Nursing Home for several years and later worked for Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice, where she touched many peoples’ lives. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, fishing at Azicohos Lake and camping.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Oliver Blood Jr. of North Jay; her children, Harold “Skip” Blood and his wife, Ann of Avon, Heather Targett and her husband, Randall of Phillips, Harvey Blood and his wife, Rhonda, of Rumford and Heath Blood of North Jay; her mother, Ella Wilbur of Skowhegan; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a special companion, her miniature poodle, Cocoa.

She was predeceased by her brother, Dale Buxton who was killed in action in Vietnam.
