Verso employees raise $88,710 for UW

JAY – The employees at the Verso Paper, Androscoggin Mill, raised $88,710 toward the $395,000 goal set by United Way of the Tri-Valley Area for the 2007-2008 campaign.

The Androscoggin Mill campaign committee made contact with every employee at the mill to encourage workers to help families, friends and neighbors in need. One Verso employee spoke of the help provided by Work First for his sister.

“Verso Paper includes good citizenship among its core values, because we know that our company’s success depends, in great part, on the health and well being of the communities where we operate,” said spokeswoman Peggy Willihan. The theme of this year’s campaign is “Simply the right thing to do.”
