ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands – The wedding of Debra L. Libbe and Maurice C. Hyde Jr., was held Aug. 1 near the crystal clear waters at heart-shaped Magen’s Bay Beach at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The Rev. Robert Nelson officiated at the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, the couple celebrated with a champagne toast while facing the twilight of the retiring day sun.
Mrs. Hyde is the daughter of Carol Libbe of Auburn and Wilfred Libbe Jr. of Lisbon. Mr. Hyde is the son of the late Shirley Dudley-Tedeschi of Auburn and Maurice C. Hyde Sr. of Augusta.
The bride wore a chiffon bridal gown with spaghetti straps with Swarovski crystal beading and embroidery on the bodice which flowed across to the decorated split overlay on the side of the gown. The hem of the train was also lightly decorated with crystal beading and embroidery. She carried a deluxe cascade bouquet of Stargazer lilies.
The couple celebrated their wedding week with a cruise on the Carnival Valor Ship throughout the Eastern Caribbean. A honeymoon trip to the Southern Caribbean is planned for the spring.
The bride is a graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn and attended Thomas College in Waterville. She is employed at L.L. Bean in Lewiston.
The bridegroom graduated from Cony High School in Augusta and attended several local and out of state colleges and universities. He is a law educator at Lewiston Regional Technical Center.
The couple is residing in Lewiston.
