CANTON – Thane M. Rose, 91, died Saturday, Dec. 29, at his residence on Lakeshore Drive , Canton, with friends by his side.

He was born in Canton on April 22, 1916, a son of George and Edna (Porter) Rose, and graduated from Canton High School, class of 1934. He played professional hockey during the 30s. He had owned and operated Lindleys Drug Store, (Now Canton Variety), for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of the Maine Harness Horseman’s Association.

He was married in West Paris in 1940, to the former Shirley Welch, who died in 1992.

Survivors include a sister, Lucille Brennan of Everett, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Young. He will be missed by his many friends.
