First, let me say how much I enjoy the editorials in the Sun Journal, and wouldn’t miss reading them.

Next, may I be one of the first to agree with the Jan. 1 editorial, “2008 can be a Dillingham kind of year.”

Russ Dillingham showed a kindness to me, a complete stranger, a few months ago that I will never forget. Perhaps he has forgotten it, but I never will. I’m glad that the editorial used him as an example of how strangers can affect lives.

He’s my hero, and 2008 will be a “Dillingham kind of year” for me.
