LEWISTON – Anne Botma, 73, of Upland Road, Lisbon Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Engwierum, the Netherlands, on March 11, 1934, the son of Jacob and Janke Botma. He was educated in the Netherlands, where he graduated from college for agricultural studies.

On April 7, 1956, he married the former Colette Wellman. After living and working in Canada and Virginia, they began the family business, Botma Dairy Farm in 1959, which is presently operated by his two sons. Among his interests were reading, the ocean, astronomy, bird watching, nature walks and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Colette of Lisbon Falls; two daughters, Janke Botma and her husband, John Scibelli, of Lebenon, N.H., and Katherine Botma of Powell, Tenn.; his three sons, Jacob Botma of New York City, N.Y., Glenn Botma of Lisbon Falls and Dirk Botma of Lisbon Falls; he will be sadly missed by his four grandchildren, Emily Botma, Brendan Whittaker, Zakary Davis and Tyler Davis; and his sister, Jant Nieuwenhuis of the Netherlands.

He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Folkert and Seerp Botma.
