LIVERMORE FALLS – Zach Keene’s team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds was not enough to hold off Mountain Valley, as the Falcons continued their unbeaten streak with a 82-43 victory over the Andies (2-5).
The Falcons (5-0) used a 23-point second quarter and a team-high 19 points from Owen Jones to hand the Andies their fifth loss of the season. Justin Staires added 16 points, while Dean McCrillis and Matt Laubauskas each netted 10 points.
Jake Marceau put seven on the scoreboard for the Andies (2-5), but rebound control and balanced scoring by the Falcons put the game out of reach early.
Winthrop 95, Monmouth 54
MONMOUTH – Sam Leclair drained a game-high 28 points Thursday to lead powerhouse Winthrop to a 95-54 rout over Monmouth.
Larry Foster and Andrew Smithgall chipped in for the Ramblers (6-0) with 12 points.
Ronnie Hobson paced the Mustangs (2-4) with 16 points, while Eric Murphy tallied 12 and Dylan Reny added 10. Winthrop jumped out to a 26-13 lead in thr first quarter and was never challenged.
Wiscasset 74, Lisbon 35
WISCASSET – Nick Hinckley scored 18 points, while Jason Dennison added 11 points, nine rebounds and nine assists to lead Wiscasset to a 74-35 win over Lisbon.
The Redskins (4-1) opened a three-point game with a 23-11 second quarter and then outscored the Greyhounds 22-5 in the third. Lisbon (0-7) got 12 points from Zach Moan and 10 from Scott Eck.
NYA 57, St. Dom’s 50
YARMOUTH – North Yarmouth closed the game with a 9-2 spurt in the final two minutes to pull away for a 57-50 victory over St. Dom’s.
The lead went back-and-forth throughout the game. The Saints (2-5) were still in contention tied at 48-48 with two minutes remaining before the Panthers (5-1) pulled away.
Leon Andrew scored a game-high 25 points for NYA and Alex Pilipsis added 13. Aaron Allen led the Saints with 14 points. D.J. St. Pierre chipped in with 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Greg LaBonte had 11 points.
