LEWISTON – Douglas Field of Old Bloody Hill Road, Lewiston, was the individual selected by the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council as the 2007 Creative Holiday Home Decorating Contest winner.
The contest was undertaken as a fundraiser for the group’s electronic message board project, which is in affiliation with the Lewiston School Department – the goal of which is to place such a board at the entrance of Lewiston High School.
To present Field with his winning certificate, five members of the youth council gathered at his home on New Year’s Eve to commend the Lewiston resident for his lighting creativity. Not only was Field’s home, lawn and barn decorated with colorful lights and props, holiday music could also be heard.
LYAC members Clarissa Smith, Devin Bergeron, Athena Andoniades, Tim Stretton and Luke Jensen presented Field a certificate as his mother, Louise Field, who nominated him, looked on. “I do it for her,” said Field as he gestured to his mother.
Luke Jensen, council chairman, told Field that his property “looked amazing” and thanked him for his holiday spirit and for beautifying the community.
