PARIS – A Sumner couple arrived at the Oxford County Jail on Friday morning to answer to a warrant issued in November for their arrest.

Donald Walter Richardson, 45, and Kathy Ann Richardson, 53, of 544 Greenwoods Road, were each charged with one count of Class D unlawful trafficking in marijuana. They were released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

A warrant had been issued for the couple’s arrest after an investigation by Zane Loper of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. According to an affidavit, a person cooperating with a DEA investigation purchased three ounces of marijuana from the couple. The affidavit states that Kathy Richardson refused to sell the marijuana until Donald Richardson had returned to the residence.

The couple is scheduled to appear in South Paris District Court on Feb. 14.
