LEWISTON – Irish set dancing classes will be offered at St. Patrick’s Church hall beginning Monday.

Set dancing consists of a series of moves danced in groups of eight dancers to reel, jug and polka tunes. Singles and couples may participate. Sets were generally choreographed in the various counties or locales of Ireland after which they are named, such at Kerry Set, Cashel Set and Connemera Set.

Anyone can learn; no previous dance experience is required. Lesson will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays. The hall is on the corner of Blake and Walnut streets. Cost is a $3 a class. For more information, call 933-9761 or stop in to observe a class.
