LEWISTON – Mechanical problems were to blame for a Vermont Transit bus breaking down Sunday afternoon at the corner of Lisbon Street and South Avenue near the Getty gas station on Lisbon Street.

Fire Capt. Tim Myers said the 3:14 p.m. incident turned out to be the result of an engine problem and not a fire. There were no injuries, and the bus company sent a second bus to transfer passengers.
