BRIDGTON – The Bridgton Community Center is offering the Living Well (chronic disease self-management program) to people with chronic conditions who want to take more control of their own health.

Classes will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon at 15 Depot St. from Friday, Jan. 11, to Friday, Feb. 15.

Living Well teaches real-life skills for living a full, healthy life with a chronic condition. Common conditions include heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, asthma, bronchitis and emphysema.

People with different chronic health problems attend together.

The center is working in collaboration with the Southern Maine Area Agency on Aging, Maine’s Office of Elder Services and the MaineHealth Partnership for Healthy Aging, under the Healthy Choices for ME program to advance evidence-based prevention and wellness programs in Maine. Healthy Choices for ME is funded, in part, by a grant from the Administration on Aging, awarded to Maine’s Office of Elder Services.

The registration fee is $10, and $5 of the fee can be applied toward the purchase of course materials.

Limited scholarships are available.
