LEWISTON – Emily G. Cloutier, 86, a resident of 10 Oak Park, Lewiston, died Saturday afternoon at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born in Guerette on May 8, 1921, the daughter of Eddie and Delfin (Dube) Gagnon.

She worked in the local shoe and textile industries until her retirement.

She was a very loyal communicant of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, attending Mass faithfully.

She was also an avid reader who also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and needlepoint.

Survivors include one daughter, June St. Laurent of Lewiston; three brothers, Lawrence Gagnon of Madawaumkeag, Allan Gagnon and Willard Gagnon both of East Millinocket; three sisters, Theresa Cummings of Caribou, Blanche Pelletier of Monmouth and Shirley Pelletier of Fort Kent. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Theresa Rodrigue and Danny St. Laurent; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Kimball, and Nicole Rodrigue.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest, in 1990; as well as one daughter, Joyce Cloutier, in 1979; one brother, Wilbert Gagnon; one sister, Lorenza Lagasse; and one granddaughter, Carmen St. Laurent
