Lewiston – Julia E. Poisson, 75, of 262 South Main St., Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Marshwood Center for Health Care.

She was born in Lewiston, on March 22, 1932, the daughter of Armand and Blanche Caron Laverdiere. She was educated in local schools and was married to Henry J. Poisson on Nov. 7, 1953, at St. Louis Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the family business as co-owner of Poisson & Sons, Citgo, along with her husband. She was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community at St. Louis Church and enjoyed working in the family business, cooking, taking care of her children and grandchildren and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Auburn; a daughter, Denise Libby and husband, Craig, of Greene; two sons, Donald J. Poisson Sr. and wife, Patricia, of Minot and Daniel Poisson Sr. and wife, Heidi, of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Laverdiere of Sidney; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant brother, Normand Laverdiere; another brother, Arthur; and a sister, Lorraine Gagnon Lachance.
