MONMOUTH – Two drivers escaped without injury Tuesday night after vehicles collided on Route 202 near the Leeds town line.
Dispatchers sent fire and rescue crews to the scene after receiving reports that the vehicles had collided head-on about 8 p.m. Police steered traffic around the crash site as the victims were assessed and cleanup began.
The road was reopened within an hour. A dispatcher said no injuries resulted from the wreck, which wasbeing investigated by the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department.
