AUBURN – The YMCA Teen Center will hold its 2008 kick-off event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. Free food and beverages will be provided. Staff is planning games, competitions, crafts and raffle prizes.

The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA Teen Center is open Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 7 p.m., with weekend hours and special events TBA. Teen center membership is free for all ages 12 to 15.

The Teen Center is well supervised. It has a game room, including pool tables, foosball tables, air-hockey, gockey and ping pong as well as board games, a big screen TV, a lounge area, a 16-speaker sound system, a computer station and a concession area that is open daily.

The Teen Center also has weekly special activities, including Open Gym every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and swimming every Tuesday from 3 to 4. It also offers a teen mentoring program, leader’s club, cooking club, arts club, activity club, community project club and a U-Start Club.
