BETHEL – Chelsea O’Brien popped in a game-high 12 points to propel Gould to a narrow 26-24 victory over Rangeley in a girls’ basketball tilt Wednesday. Seana Siekman chipped in for Gould (4-2) with eight points.
Allie Hammond led the Lakers with nine points, the only player to approach double figures. Rangeley outscored Gould 12-7 in the third quarter but came up short at the buzzer.
Mt. Abram 52, Carrabec 41
SALEM – Kenni Norton poured in a game-high 21 points, and Mt. Abram’s full-court pressure forced numerous turnovers as the Roadrunners pulled out a 52-41 win Wednesday night.
Janessa Thomas scored 11 points to help Mt. Abram (5-3). Suzy Cody led Carrabec (1-7) with 11 points while Alicia Stoddard added 10.
Telstar 52, Livermore Falls 42
LIVERMORE FALLS – Bayley Davis scored a game-high 17 points Wednesday to lead Telstar to a 52-42 victory over Livermore Falls.
Kayla Merrill chipped in for the Rebels with 10 points, while Josie Reiss added eight.
The Andies (2-7) were paced by Ester Bizier with 11 points, while Kendra Lyman added 10. Telstar jumped out to a 13-point lead in the first quarter before the Andies got back in the game with a 19-8 run in the second.
G-NG 48, Poland 28
GRAY – Laura Getchell sparked a 20-5 run in the second quarter as Gray-New Gloucester ran away from Poland 48-28 in a girls’ basketball tilt Wednesday.
Getchell finished with nine points overall, while Chelsea Durgin led the Patriots (5-3) with 14. Terry-Lynn Sanborn also contributed with 10 points in the win.
The Knights (3-5) were paced by Paige Piper, Dani Belanger and Alexis Doyer with six points each.
Mountain Valley 50, Jay 38
RUMFORD – Tanya Martin poured in 14 points as Mountain Valley pulled away in the third quarter en route to a 50-38 win over Jay on Wednesday.
Lauren LePage added 11 points for the Falcons (6-2). Hillary Dean paced Jay (5-4) with a game-high 19 points, while Morgan Turner added seven points.
