Mexico couple have New Year’s Baby 2008

RUMFORD – Rumford Hospital’s New Year’s Baby 2008 is Elden Dean Irish, born Jan. 5 to Kristel and Daniel Irish of Mexico.

Weighing in at 8 lb. 10 oz. and 21 in. long, he has two “big sisters,” Madison and Mackenzie, and a dog and a rabbit at home.

Irish is self-employed and works for NE Mechanical Overlay as well.

Grandparents are Brenda and Leo Irish of Andover, Janet Bowman of Andover, Peter and Bella Pelletier of Florida.

The parents were told to expect a girl, so they had painted the nursery pink. Kristel’s sister and a friend repainted the room while the family was in the hospital.

They received a basket filled by the Birthing Center nurses, containing quilts, blankets, books, toys and gift certificates.
