LEWISTON – Patrick L. Plourde, 88, a resident of 550 College St., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 8, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, shortly after arrival, with family by his side.
He was born in Skowhegan, April 7, 1919, the son of Charles and Leocardie (Gagnon) Plourde. He started work at a young age as a shipping clerk and then began his long career as a meat cutter beginning with Charlie Day, then more than 20 years for Hannaford and his last 20 years as a meat cutter for Bourque’s Market in Lewiston, until his retirement in 2006.
He was an avid bowler, who also enjoyed woodworking and just recently redecorated his home in knotty pine. He also loved nurturing his plants.
Survivors include four nieces, Kelley Holt and her husband, Kenneth, of Litchfield, Jannan Oliver of Damariscotta, Sharon McKechnies and her husband, Robert, of Farmington and Helen Flewylen and her husband, Robert, of Skowhegan; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Arlene Worthley in 1980; and 10 siblings, Robert, Charles, Loretta, Georgianna, Helen, Joseph, Emile, Paul, Leon and Adrien.
