JAY – A memorial celebration of life service for Lawrence Allen was held Wednesday at the Wiles Remembrance Center, Jay, with the Rev. Mark Pearson of Christchurch, Portland, officiating. Family members Daemian, Micah and Shannon played “Naima” or “Peace Piece.” Flash Jr., Ina and Lynn sang, “Thanks for the Memory;” Lynn Boren-McKellar sang “I’ll Be Seeing You;” Tina Allen sang “Tears in Heaven” and “Take My Hand.” The congregation was invited to join in singing “When We All Get to Heaven.” Cousin, Charles Bryant and daughter-in-law, Dennise Whitley-Allen gave personal eulogies. Military members from Camp Keyes, Augusta, provided military honors. After services, all were invited to attend a family reception at the Lane-Dube AMVETS Post 33, Jay. Spring committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton.
