LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, together with the United Way, are presenting “A Workshop for Nonprofits: How to Cultivate Businesses as Partners,” to be held at the chamber at 415 Lisbon St., on Jan. 17.

The workshop is from 11 a.m.-noon, with networking from noon-1 p.m. Lunch is included.

Candace Sanborn of Encompass Marketing will offer ways to work with businesses as financial partners and what businesses can look for when making decisions about their non-profit contributions. The session will also include a peer-to-peer discussion during lunch so that attendees can learn from one another’s fundraising activities.

Sanborn has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and media buying. She develops strategic marketing and media plans for growth-oriented businesses and organizations, as well as manages the business side of Encompass Marketing. A transplant from the San Francisco Bay area, Sanborn received her bachelor of arts degree in journalism with a concentration in advertising from the University of Maine at Orono and an MBA degree from the University of Southern New Hampshire.

Contact the chamber at 783-2249 for more information and/or to register for the workshop. There is a nominal fee for attendance, which includes lunch. For information about benefits of becoming a chamber member, contact Alice Chamberlin Mogensen at 783-2249 or e-mail to [email protected].
