FARMINGTON – Anna Mae Quirrion, 88, of Farmington, formerly of Chicago, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born, Aug. 11, 1919, in Sparksville, Ky., the daughter of Martin Roy and Lucy J. (Davis) Janes. She attended schools in Kentucky.
She worked at various factories during her life, primarily wiring on home appliances. She also served as a caregiver for many years including time as a young woman and later in her life.
She was a talented seamstress and quilter enjoying time spent with many quilting clubs. Teaching Sunday school was major part of her life as she loved the Lord and made him a part of all aspects of her life. She also sang gospel in Chicago area churches and the George Beverly Shea revivals with her siblings.
She is survived by her son, Max Yates Sr. and his wife, Lila, of Vienna; a stepdaughter, Linda Rybandt of Florida; a brother, Ruel Janes of Bridgeview, Ill.; a sister, Eva Fletcher and her husband, Luther, of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Naomi Henry and her husband, Harold, of Farmington, Max Yates II and his wife, Kimberly, of Farmington, Charles Yates and his companion, Sandra Wade, of Wilton, Anisa Welch and her husband, John, of New Sharon and Shannon Yates of New Vineyard; 12 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Marissa, Keirra, Madison, Kamrin, Dalton, Danielle, Cole, Amelia, Joseph and Kelli; two great-great-grandchildren, David and Alexis.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Mary Roberts and Perna Maupin; and a brother, Boyce Janes.
