LEWISTON – Louis O. “Red” Gauthier, 69, of 20 Gloria Ave., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 11, at his home.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 26, 1938, the son of Ovila and Lucia Bosse Gauthier, and was educated in Lewiston schools.
He served his country in the U.S. Army reserves.
He was married to Irene Emond.
He was employed at Hill Mill, area shoe shops, Laborers Union No. 327, and at the time of his death, was employed as a truck driver for L.P. Poirier & Sons.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Irene of Lewiston; three daughters, Joan Erickson and husband, Mike, of Callahan, Fla., Kathy Wing and husband, Denis, of Lewiston, and Peggy Ives and husband, Edward, of Lebanon, Conn.; and seven grandchildren, Ryan Gauthier, Jacob and Trisha Erickson, Austin and Dalton Wing, Edward Jr. and Steven Ives.
