Lewiston – Ronald S. Lachance, 52, of 82 Riverside Drive in Auburn, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, with family at his side shortly after arrival at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 24, 1955, a son of Alexina Bouchard and Albert S. Lachance.

He was educated in Auburn schools, graduated from Edward Little High School and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On May 28, 1994, he married Mary Clark in Lewiston. Ron worked for 22 years as a mental health worker and supervisor for the state of Maine at Pineland Center.

As a mental health worker, he was exceptional at what he did.

He loved his job and worked so well with the mentally handicapped, always showing such care, compassion and patience while giving so much of himself for them. He loved owning and riding Harley Davidsons as well as spending time with his beloved pets, Harley and Bailey, also camping, and snowmobiling.

In his earlier years, he was an excellent skier and was a member of his high school ski team.

He also volunteered for many years at the Good Shepherd Food Bank as that was an important cause to him.

Ron was a very caring and giving person who never hesitated to help out anyone in need.

He leaves his wife, Mary Lachance of Auburn; his mother, Alexina Caron of Auburn; his sister, Gloria Burnham and husband, Dave, of Auburn; his brother, Richard Lachance and wife, Janice, of Lewiston; nine nieces and nephews, Jonni, Lucas and Nathan Lachance, Shane Burnham, Mackenzie Pride, Raegan Clark, and Nicholas, Grace and Jack Pepin; a grandniece, Sophia Cortez; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his two dogs, Harley and Bailey.
