LEWISTON – Betty Z. Greenlaw Lachance, 68, of Auburn passed away at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center on Jan. 14, with her family by her side, from complications associated with amyloidosis, a rare disease of the immune system.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 8, 1939, a daughter of William and Ruth Greenlaw. She was educated in Auburn schools and was a lifelong resident here.

She worked for Woolworth’s Department Store and Belgrade Shoe Co. She was married to Ernest William (Billy) Lachance Jr. Her enjoyments included lawn sales, doing puzzles, reading and shopping.

Surviving are three brothers, William H. Jr., David B. and John E. Greenlaw; three sisters, Mary J. Haskell, Roberta E. Greenlaw and Sandra A. Donaghy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; parents and siblings, Dorothy, Eleanor, Alfreda, Barbara, Pauline, Joan and Margaret (Peggy).

The family thanks Dr. Matthews, her assistant, Sandy, Dr. Jennie Smith, Dr. N. Ericson and the dedicated staff at St. Mary’s for their compassionate care.
