Dear Sun Spots: I wanted to take the time to say “thank you” to the wonderful people of Maine for all their love, care and concern during my time of struggle with breast cancer. I did not know that my wonderful friend, Heather Turner, had contacted you until an outpouring of cards and letters starting showing up in the mail. My hope is to personally write back to all those that sent return addresses, however, just in case I am unable to, I wanted everyone to know how much I appreciate them. All the words of encouragement have helped me remain strong in my battle. Thank you and God bless all of you. – Andrea Godbolt and Family, Charlotte, South Carolina.
Answer: How wonderful! Sun Spots contacted Andrea to hear how things were going. She says she’s 2/3 of the way through her chemotherapy treatment so Sun Spots is doubly impressed that she was up to updating readers! Many thanks, Andrea.
Starting in March, she will begin seven weeks, five days a week, of radiation therapy. Following that Andrea will have her ovaries removed (her cancer is ER and PR positive) as a precaution, followed by at least five years of hormonal therapy. Like Andrea, Sun Spots and readers are praying the end result will be No Evidence of Disease. Take all our healing vibes as you continue your journey, Andrea. We wish you well.
Dear Sun Spots: Once again I am asking for your help. On Jan. 2, 2008, I was watching National Geographic program on Time Warner channel 75. I believe it was around 11 a.m. They were showing a program which ran about two hours, of the “Rebuilding of Stonehenge.”
It was most interesting. As I have been there, I would be most interested in obtaining a copy of the program. If possible, I would like to know if it is available on DVD to purchase and at what cost. I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide. Your column is valued by many. – Elizabeth Davis, New Gloucester.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots has not located a copy of this particular program on the National Geographic’s Web site. Hopefully, there may be some readers out there who have a copy of this that they would be willing to share with you.
Sun Spots: You help so many local people. I am trying to help No Name featured in the Jan. 9 column and seeking a small red hat for her Red Hat Society gatherings:
I sell Red Hat clothing here in Lewiston. I have Red Hats that have the expandable band inside the hat that No Name could try on for the fit.
For Red Hatters interested in seeing these items can call Clem at 514-4546 or e-mail at [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you. – Hubert Clements, Lewiston.
Answer: Many thanks for the information Hubert. I’m sure other red hatters will be glad to check in with you. In the meantime, Sun Spots chatted with Hubert to get a better idea of what he was selling to red hatters. The clothing line he carries includes dresses, Capri’s, sweatshirts and T-shirts. He also says that along with attending craft shows, he also attends Red Hat meetings to display his fashions. Perhaps you and others may wish to discuss this with him.
