RUMFORD – Diana M. Anastasio, 85, formerly of Kimball Avenue, Mexico, died Friday, Jan. 18, at her residence at the Rumford Community Home.

She was born in Rumford on March 5, 1922, a daughter of Eugene and Jeanette (Doiron) Dorion and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1939.

After graduation, she worked at Oxford Paper Co. from 1940 to 1943 and returned in 1953 as secretary to the general manager of the wood department, until retirement in 1987, after more than 34 years from the then called Boise Cascade Paper Co.

She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, member and past regent of St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, member Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25-year club and volunteer member and treasurer of the Mexico Senior Housing Corp.

She was married in Rumford on Sept. 28, 1942 to Frank Anastasio, who died in Rumford on Sept. 16, 2006.

Survivors include daughters, Janet Haas and husband, Richard, of Annandale, Va., and Barbara Neil and husband, Herb, of Strong; sons, Frank J. Anastasio and wife, Cheryl, of Rumford and Eugene Anastasio and wife, Joan, of Keene, N.H.; eight grandchildren, Erika Kerrigan and husband, Jason, of Charlottesville, Va., Michael Anastasio and wife, Jaime, of Walpole, N.H., Nicholas Anastasio of Cohoos, N.Y., Marc Anastasio of Mechanic Falls, Randy Neil of Kent Store, Va., Sandra Neil of Strong, Nancy Seelow and husband, Tim, of Jay and Suzanne Kidd and husband, David, of Strong; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers, Emile, Gerard and Phil Dorion; and a sister, Evangeline Ripley.
