FARMINGTON – George Henderson, 62, a resident of Fayette, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.

He was born on April 17, 1945, in Rockland, the son of Daniel A. and Mildred V. (Quimby) Henderson and attended the schools of Rockland. He worked at MB Bowen of South Portland as a roofer, retiring in 1990 due to an accident.

On Aug. 14, 1990, he married Bethany Staples of Livermore Falls. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, playing and listening to country music and going to the dog track. He always looked forward to get-togethers with family and friends and making everyone around him laugh and have a good time. He and his wife also loved to travel. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of Fayette; a daughter-in-law, Vicky York Fitch of Livermore Falls; three sisters, Janet Jackson and her husband, David, of Portsmouth, N.H., Trudy Murine of Brewer and Kathy Batchelder and her husband, Ed, of Nashua, N.H.

He was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Henderson.
