LIVERMORE FALLS – Bill Irwin will be the guest speaker at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Emmanuel Assembly of God.

Irwin is a speaker, author and certified family counselor. He is the first and only blind person to hike the entire (2,168 miles) Appalachian Trial alone with his German shepherd guide dog, Orient.

Irwin had to climb cliffs, cross bridges and ford streams. On average he fell an average of 25 times a day. He said his faith sustained him.

Irwin Bill lost his sight in 1968.
