Lewiston – Lucy Marie Bortell, 69, of Lincoln Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 20.

She was born in Portland, July 31, 1938, a daughter of Vincent and Camilla Rumo Esposito. She attended Portland schools and worked for 35 years at New England Telephone as an operator. After her retirement she also worked part-time at Windham McDonald’s.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was also president of the Friendship Club at New Marblehead Manor where she resided. She was much beloved to the Friendship Club. She was known to be a chocolate fanatic. She was married to Arthur Bortell Sr. for 27 years. He predeceased her as well as her parents; and sister, Jennie Nixon.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Meeks of Lewiston; and a son, Craig Bortell of Burlington: brothers Joseph Esposito, Victor Esposito, Quido Esposito, Robert Esposito and Richard Esposito; sisters Elizabeth Thibodeau, Virginia Stepnick, Patricia Regiacorte and Camilla Jelinik; grandchildren William Kemp, Sarah Kemp, Devlon LePage, Michael Kemp, Nicholas Crosson and Craig Stratton; and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Kemp; and several nieces and nephews.
