LEWISTON – The National Active Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Ramada Inn.
Speaker will be Chris Irish of Central Maine Medical Center, speaking on diabetes and senior health.
Plans for the meeting were made at the home of Vi Dumais and attending were Sue Stetson, Mike and Flo Bohunicky, Doris Hamel and Joanne Morse.
Batik class
TURNER – The batiking/watercolor on rice paper class, sponsored by SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Leavitt Area High School.
Batiking is a process of layering wax with watercolor paint.
The patterns, paint and rice paper will be provided. Call the Adult Ed office at 225-3478 to register or for information.
Book fair
LEWISTON – The Vineyard Christian School is hosting a Scholastic book fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Vineyard Christian School cafe. There will be refreshments and a door prize.
Saturday supper
CASCO – The Casco Village United Church of Christ on Route 121 will hold its monthly Saturday night supper, featuring “Crock Pot-pourri,” from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 26.
There will be crock pot specialties, rolls, salads, beverages and homemade pies. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
The meal is sponsored by the CVC high school youth group, “Starburst,” and the junior high youth group, “WACT.”
