NORWAY – Arlene Steward, 93, of Norway, died Sunday, Jan. 20, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Freeman on Dec. 7, 1914, the daughter of Edwin and Cora Ellis Record. She had worked as an assistant to Dr. Cecil Thompson, later at C.B. Cummings and had been a homemaker and seamstress all of her life.
She married Elliott Steward on Dec. 18, 1941. He passed away in 1998. She enjoyed watching wildlife, especially birds. She loved sewing, doing alterations for several local stores over the years. She will be remembered for her kind heart and her generosity.
She is survived by a niece, Linda Murch and her husband, Alfred; great-nephew, Tom Murch and his wife, Samantha; great-niece, Sharon Merrill; a great-great-nephew, Jeffrey Merrill; and three great-great-nieces, Jesse and Joanna Murch and Jaime Merrill, all of Waterford.
