Third Sunday

PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, South Paris, will celebrate the third Sunday after Epiphany on Sunday, Jan. 27. Sunday school will start at 9 a.m. as will “Making the Old Story Our Story” for adults. The worship service will be at 10:15, followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship.

Sunday speaker

PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will be the guest speaker for the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Jan. 27, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St. The sermon topic will be “In the Beginning.”

Music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins with Renee Wales, flutist, accompanying the choir and congregation. Alan DeSilver, guitarist, will be the guest soloist.

The Sunday school program is under the direction of Renee Wales and childcare is available. Coffee and fellowship will follow the worship service and all are welcome.

Dream work

PARIS – “Putting on Joseph’s Dream Coat,” an introduction to dream work, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, South Paris. All are welcome.

It will be an introduction for anyone interested in exploring the meaning of dreams in the Bible and in their own lives. A method will be introduced that has proven effective in getting at the meaning of those sometimes crazy images, which can be important for physical health and spiritual development.

The session will be led by Pastors Kim Marie, Tom Myhre and David Thorp. No knowledge of the Bible or dreaming is necessary. Registration is not necessary.

Series program

BETHEL – A Mahoosuc Land Trust Local Knowledge Series session will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Trustees Auditorium, McLaughlin Science Building, Gould Academy.

Ann Ingerson and David Brown will present “Labrador Canoe Crossing: Ice Rock and Tides.”

Sweetheart dance

PARIS – The Swinging Bears Square Dance Club will hold a Sweetheart Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, South Paris. Walt Bull will call mainstream and plus for the square dancing. John Heign will cue for the round dancing.

Cost is $10 a couple, $5 single. Refreshments will be available at intermission. Nondancers are invited to attend at no charge.
