Ice harvesting
LIVERMORE – The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center will hold its annual ice harvesting on Saturday, Jan. 26. Demonstrations will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and take place on the ice at Bartlett Pond and the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, 290 Norlands Road.
The public is invited to lend a hand bringing in the winter “crop.” Traditional 1800s ice harvesting methods will be used.
Activities will include cutting and hauling the blocks of ice from the pond to the barn and packing them in the ice house. Admission is free, and food and hot beverages will be available.
Annual meeting
FARMINGTON – Members of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will give thanks for 198 years of mission and witness on Sunday, Jan. 27. Originally, organized in 1810, the church will hold its annual meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The meeting will be followed by a potluck supper.
The day will begin with Sunday school classes for all ages at 9 a.m. Worship will begin at 10:30. “God Will Restore” (I Peter 5:6-11) is the title of Pastor Susan Crane’s message. All are welcome. Henderson Memorial is located at 110 Academy St.
