LEWISTON – Joseph H. Dallaire, 89, of Tampa Street, Lewiston, passed away on Monday, Jan. 21, at the d’Youville Pavilion, after a short stay.
He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 9, 1918, a son of Lucien and Dora Fluet Dallaire. He was educated locally, and was employed as a driver for Seltzer & Rydholm. He then served with the Army Air Corps in World War II. While on leave, he returned to Lewiston and on Nov. 24, 1942, he married the love of his life, the former Yvette Couturier.
After the war, he was employed for many years as a die maker for the Auburn Die Company. He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years of Lewiston; a son, Gary of Lewiston; two daughters, Arlene and her husband, David Green, of Palm Beach, Fla., and Mona and her husband, Fern Gosselin, of Lewiston; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Maurice; and three sisters, Cecile Morin, Marguerite Polak and Rita Spencer.
