BOSTON (AP) – Developers of the proposed wind farm off Cape Cod have filed a revised permit application.
The Army Corps of Engineers says the changes to the Cape Wind project are minor, and involve details such as design and location of wind turbines. Another change concerns lighting to warn aircraft.
Cape Wind Associates spokesman Mark Rodgers says the revisions are routine updates common with major projects during permitting. Rodgers says the revisions won’t affect developers’ expectations of beginning operations in 2011.
The revisions come a week after the federal Minerals Management Service said the project on Nantucket Sound would pose no major environmental problems.
The developer wants to build 130 windmills across 25 miles of federal waters in Nantucket Sound to generate electricity.
