WEST PARIS – Jeannine C. Metivier, 75, of East Shore Road in Peru, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Ledgeview Living Center, after a long illness.
She was born in Rumford, on June 18, 1932, a daughter of Maurice M. and Ida (Routhier) Cyr. She was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1950. She was employed for 20 years as a clerk at Bartash gift store.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Dixfield. She was a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. She will be remembered as a devoted homemaker who loved the season of summer, and enjoyed being outdoors and walking. She loved nature and all animals, especially her cats.
She is survived by two children, Christina Y. Gillespie and husband, Carroll, of Brownfield and Mark C. Metivier and wife, Antoinette, of Winchester, Va.; aunt, Sister Yvette Routhier of Rockville Ctr., N.Y.; a cousin, Jeannine Spencer and husband, Richard, of Travares, Fla.; and a step-grandson, Mark Gillespie of Wilton.
