There were 33 U.S. senators who voted June 6, 2007, against making English as the official language of the United States. Their vote, against an amendment to Immigration Bill 1348, is astonishing, especially since it came on D-Day, when this nation honors those who sacrificed in order to secure the character and principles of America. I can only surmise that their vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.

Worse, four of those senators voting against the language amendment are or were presidential candidates: Sens. Joseph Biden, Hillary Clinton, Christopher Dodd and Barack Obama. They can vye to lead America, but don’t have the courage to vote in favor of English as America’s official language when most American citizens want English officially designated as the country’s language.

The tragedy of President George Bush’s betrayal of the U.S. Constitution by the Patriot Act teaches us that we need to watch future presidential candidates more closely. The very fact that these presidential candidates voted unpatriotically demonstrates their United Nations global allegiance, rather than loyalty to this nation’s constitutional liberties, and automatically makes them unfit for any serious consideration as a presidential candidate.

The upcoming election is a perfect opportunity for patriotic Americans to express their righteous outrage, exact retribution and send a message. Those traitors can be eliminated as choices for president on election day and, hopefully, from the U.S. Senate.

I would submit that Ron Paul is the only candidate who adheres to the principles of constitutional responsibility and genuine liberty.
