WATERFORD – Robert Irvin Pike, 83, of Waterford died Friday, Jan. 25, at his farm in Waterford with his loving wife and family by his side.

He was born in South Waterford on Sept. 22, 1924, to Clayton and Grace M. Pike. He attended Waterford schools.

He faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Pike owned and operated along with his wife their farm on Mutiny Brook road in Waterford. He enjoyed farming and logging. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked traveling to his camp up north. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He enjoyed dancing.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9328 of Harrison and the National Rifle Association.

Mr. Pike is survived by his loving wife Althea of Waterford; nine children, Steven Pike and his wife, Vickie, of Waterford, Linda Moynihan and her companion, Alan Cameron, of Waterford, Jack I. Pike and wife, Irene, of Norway, Wayne R. Pike and his wife, Paula, of Waterford, Bradley B. Pike and his wife, Doreen, of Waterford, Terry A. Ward and husband, Jeffrey, of Waterford, Pamela Colby and husband, Walter, of Oxford, Kevin Pike and his wife, Diana, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robert Pike Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Waterford; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lelia Hill of Norway, Reta St. John of Harrison, Ruth O’brion of South Paris, Laura Richardson of Norman, Okla., Elizabeth Adams of Bridgton, and Eva Thurlow of Casco; a brother, Herbert Pike of Naples; sisters-in-law, Frances Pike of Waterford, and Evelyn Pike of Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pike was predeceased by a grandson, David Jendrick Jr.
