I agree with Diana Smith about overindulging children (letter Jan. 21). It’s all around, no matter where you go.
I brought up my children to respect and take responsibility in life.
It’s sad that there are so many parents at fault for the children’s actions – they do not teach them the manners and actions the children should be using.
Today’s parents will find out when they become senior citizens. We will see then how much the children will do for the parents who did everything for them.
I am glad I was a strict parent, as I had seven children and I ruled. Today, I don’t have to worry about my children depending on someone else – they take responsibility and do well for themselves.
