WEST PARIS – Theresa M. Perry, 79, of 220 Franklin St., Rumford, died Friday, Jan. 25, at Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Rumford on Sept. 9, 1928, a daughter of Marc G. and Agnes Arsenault.
Theresa was a graduate of Stephens High School Class of 1948.
She was employed as a retail clerk and waitress in the Rumford area for many years.
Theresa was a communicant of St. Athanasius & St. John Catholic Church.
She was a member of the Monday Night Cribbage Club at the Eagles, Friday Night Cribbage Club at St. Theresa’s, and a member of Rumford Senior Citizens Club.
Theresa loved paying bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons, Lt. Gerard J. Perry Jr., retired USN, of Bath, Lawrence J. Perry and wife, Sara, of Rumford, Edward A. Perry and wife, Faith, of Rumford, and Chief Petty Officer Michael J. Perry USN and wife, Rosemarie, of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; two sisters, Irene Poirier of Rumford, and Yvonne Hill and husband, Phil, of Carthage; nine grandchildren, Andrew Perry of Saco, Angela Perry of Rangeley, Oliver Perry of Rumford, Jamie Lee Perry of Bangor, Kate Perry of Rumford, Mark Perry of Rumford, Joshua Perry of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Nathan Perry of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and Jacob Deppmeyer of Freeport; and one great-grandson, Ethan Hafford of Bangor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard J. Perry Sr., in 1988; a sister, Hermine “Min” Poirier; and seven brothers, Robert “Hunt,” Arthur, John “Nash,” Frankie, her twin Alfred “Fess,” Peter and Joseph.
