RUMFORD – A Mass of Christian Burial for George W. Jenkins was celebrated Friday at St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Angelo LeVasseur was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace,” “Let There Be Peace On Earth” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Readings were done by Arita Zitoli. Pallbearers were James E.N. Bachelder, State Commander, Roger Cloutier, Past District 9 Commander, Bob Dube, Commander VFW Post 1641, and Alfred J. Drapeau. Military honors were by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program. Interment will be in Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at a later date. A reception followed at the VFW. Relatives and friends may pay tribute to George at www.mem.com.
