Museum to open in former mill house

LIVERMORE FALLS – There is a new presence in the community – the former “Mill Manager’s House” at 22 Church St. will become the Paper and Heritage Museum of Maine. Projected opening date is History Night, Friday, May 23.

Before the doors can officially be unlocked and the public welcomed, there are many items needed.

Required for a successful opening season are display cases, china cabinets, garage roofing materials, new monitors, antique furniture, wheelchair ramp, blinds, conference table and chairs. Any suggestions or in-kind donations will be accepted. A contribution toward the purchase of an appropriate sign for the museum would be appreciated.

Bridal couples can rent the museum for their wedding photos for a fee by appointment.

Anyone who has a donation should call Sherry Judd at 592-1807 or Claire Laverdiere-Michaud at 897-3514. In the future, name plaques will be displayed in the museum for contributors of substantial donations.

At a future date the museum will also accept collector’s donations of artifacts. It can also be arranged by appointment. Call Judd for details.
