Bridge results
NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 25 in the Fare Share Commons, Main Street, with a four-table Howell movement played.
Finishing first in Flight A and B were Arlen Riis and Bob Clifford; second, Flight A, Marjory Street and Les Buzzell; second, Flight B, Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.

Sunday topic
NORWAY – Services at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St., will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3. The church is served by the Rev. Richard Beal. The service title for will be “Decision-making.”
The choir rehearses at 9:30 a.m. Sundays and those wishing are invited to sing with the choir. Childcare is provided for the service.
Church service
PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, Paris, will celebrate the Transfiguration of Our Lord on Sunday, Feb. 3. Sunday school will start at 9 a.m. as will Making the Old Story Our Story for adults. Worship starts at 10:15 followed by a potluck brunch following the service.
Guild to meet
PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., Paris, from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 5 Instead of paying dues this month, each member is asked to make a pair of mittens for Outreach for needy children. In the event that school is called off due to a storm, there will be no meeting.
Fundraiser
WEST PARIS – Friends of the West Paris Library will draw the winner of the detailed library model, built and donated by Mike Dean of Norway, on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 14. Those wishing can still buy chances by visiting the library on Mondays and Fridays from 1:30 to 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 1:30 to 7 p.m. or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The raffle is a fundraiser for the new addition.
