LEWISTON – Police continue searching for a man accused of robbing the EZ Mart on Lisbon Street last week.

The suspect fled on foot toward St. Croix Street after escaping the store with stolen cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash late last Monday night.

He is described as being between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He was wearing jeans, a green parka-type jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, and a light-colored wool hat pulled over his face, police Lt. Mike McGonagle said.

An convenience store employee called police after being confronted, but the robber made a run for it before police arrived.

Police have images of the suspect on surveillance tape.

“The surveillance tapes are being reviewed, and we have good leads,” McGonagle said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Trevor Campbell at the Lewiston Police Department, 513-3138, ext. 3320.
