WILTON – A Wilton man was arrested on a charge of possession of schedule W drugs after being stopped for a minor traffic violation.

Brandon E. Ryder, 24, was stopped Wednesday on Weld Road by police officer Rick Billian. After stopping the vehicle, Billian said he detected a slight smell of marijuana that gave him probable cause to search the vehicle. He found 10 oxcycodone tablets wrapped in cellophane, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia, he said Thursday.

Ryder was released on $5,000 unsecured bail. A court appearance is scheduled for March 24.
